This drug seems to be a vivid illustration of people's using special brand names instead of active ingredients' names in drugs. Common brands are usually shorter, and sound better as compared to rather complicated chemical terms. Really, Sinemet is much easier to remember and spell than carbidopa and levodopa. However, in case with Mylan Pharmaceuticals, they only manufacture generic versions of popular brands, and the right name for Mylan 88 pill is carbidopa and levodopa, whether you may like it or not.
